How to: Move/Duplicate Activities Across Workspaces and Terms

A guide on how to move AI activities from one workspace to another, or from one group to another.

What is it?

A workspace is a an environment within Flint that contains groups, activities, chats, terms, and more. A school typically has one Flint workspace to contain all the teachers, students, courses, and more at that school. As a teacher or student you are a part of your school's workspace.

Why is it important?

As a teacher, you might've created activities in a free/personal workspace that you want to move over to your school's workspace or activities from a previous term to your current term. Whatever it may be, you have the ability to move or duplicate your activities over to your desired, workspace, term, or group.

Workspace to Workspace

There are many situations where you may want to move your activities from one workspace to another. Maybe your school is new to Flint and you've been using Flint in your free personal workspace. Now you want the activities you created in your personal workspace to be transferred to your new workspace. Follow the directions below to do so!

  1. Navigate to "My Activities" on the left of your screen and go to "Import Activities" at the top of the next page.

  2. Select the workspace and term that you're importing the activities from.

  3. Choose the location of the activities you want to import (e.g. "Home" or a specific group).

  4. Select the activities you want to import by checking the boxes next to them. You can select more than one or select all by checking the box at the top.

  5. Once you've chosen your activities, click "Next".

  6. Choose to "Move" the activities (not duplicate) to the new workspace.

  7. Review the list of activities to be moved.

  8. Click "Move [number] activities" to confirm.

  9. Click "Done" to complete the process.

Workspace to Group

There are different situations where you might want to move an activity to a specific group. Maybe you've created activities in your workspace without assigning them to any of your groups yet. You're ready to do so now and want to move your activities into specific groups. Follow the steps below to do so!

  1. Navigate to the group you want to move the activities to on the left of your screen.

  2. At the top of your screen, click on the three dots to "Import Activities"

  3. Select the workspace and term that you're importing the activities from.

  4. Choose the location of the activities you want to import (e.g. "Home" or a specific group).

  5. Select the activities you want to import by checking the boxes next to them. You can select more than one or select all by checking the box at the top.

  6. Once you've chosen your activities, click "Next".

  7. Choose to "Move" the activities (not duplicate) to the new workspace.

  8. Review the list of activities to be moved.

  9. Click "Move [number] activities" to confirm.

  10. Click "Done" to complete the process.

Term to Term

Oftentimes on Flint, your school will create an updated term in your workspace to ensure that the rostering is correct. This means that you will be placed in the new term, and your old activities will remain in the previous term until you move them. If you want to move your activities from your new previous term to your new term, follow the steps below to do so!

  1. Ensure you are in your current term. You can confirm this by clicking on your workspace name at the top left of your screen.

  2. If you're moving activities from your previous term to your current term and not within a specific group, follow steps for "Workspace to Workspace" above.

  3. If you're moving activities from your previous term to a group within your current term, follow steps for
    "Workspace to Group" above.

Duplicate Activities

You really like one of your activities and want to duplicate it to multiple groups. You can do so by following the steps below!

  1. Navigate to your activity

  2. Click "Duplicate Activity" at the top of your screen

  3. Choose where you want to duplicate your activity to
