If you want students using Flint on school grounds only, you can limit your school to the IP addresses students connect from on site. Teachers and admins are not affected — they can still reach Flint from anywhere.
You need school ownership and access to full school settings to save these changes. Teacher-labelled school owners can configure this too; student school owners cannot open the Access page. If you cannot access the page or save changes, ask your school admin. Get your network's real public internet egress IP ranges from your IT team before you start — not students' private Wi-Fi or LAN addresses.
Add an allowed IP range
The historical recording uses Settings & members › Access controls, Add a CIDR block, and Update. The range field is visibly blank; the recording does not demonstrate a saved range. Follow the current Admin › Settings › Access, Add, and Save steps below.

- Click Admin in the left sidebar.
- Click Settings, then Access.
- Find Allowed IP ranges and click Add.
- Type the public IP range supplied by your IT team in CIDR notation.
203.0.113.10/32is a non-routable documentation example only — replace it with your school's real public egress address./32allows one IPv4 address; a broader range allows multiple addresses. Do not use a private LAN subnet such as192.168.1.0/24. - Click Add again for each extra public range your IT team supplies.
- Click Save in the top right.
Flint shows students a blocked-access screen when their connection does not match an allowed range. Leave the list empty and there's no IP restriction.
What students see elsewhere
Off the allowed network, a student sees a message from Sparky saying it's only available at school, plus a Sign out button, instead of the app. Their classes, activities and sessions are untouched and waiting when they're back on site.
Remove a range
Click the red trash button next to the range you no longer want, then click Save. Removing every range lifts the restriction completely.
