How to add start dates and deadlines to activities

Make sure your students see activities exactly when you want them to, and have them submit on time.

This article covers how you can set a start date and deadline for your AI activities, whether it is a quiz, worksheet, exit ticket, or reflection. Here are the eight steps:

  1. Select the activity

  2. Click "Activity settings"

  3. Click "Build manually"

  4. Hover over the sidebar

  5. Click "Assignment"

  6. Set a start date and deadline

  7. Click "Update activity"

We've broken down each step below 👇

1. Select the activity

Go to "My activities" to find the activity you want to edit. If you want to add a start date and deadline while building your activity, skip to step 3.

2. Click "Activity settings"

"Activity settings" are on the top right corner of your screen. This will bring you to the Activity builder screen.

3. Click "Build manually"

At the top center of your activity builder, you can toggle between "Build with Sparky" and "Build manually." Click "Build manually." It will take you to the screen you see below.

4. Hover over the sidebar

On the left side of your screen, you'll see a sidebar with different icons. Hover over the sidebar.

5. Click "Assignment"

At the very bottom of the sidebar, you'll see "Assignment." Go ahead and click that.

6. Set a start date or deadline

You'll then be taken to the assignment screen, where you will find Available from (aka your start date) and deadline. You can go ahead and set the start date and deadline by clicking each of the boxes and choosing the desired date and time.

7. Click "Update activity"

Once you've added the start date, deadline, or both, you can go to the top right of your screen and click "Update activity." This will save your settings.
