The Learning Goals Background feature helps educators provide context for their class groups, allowing Flint to better understand and meet student needs. Once set, this information automatically applies to all activities within the group, ensuring consistency across your content.
In summary, this setting:
Provides context for how Flint should respond to and prompt students within activity sessions in the group
Can have an input up to 1,000 characters
Should include information like:
Grade level
Subject
Key learning objectives
Class demographics or special considerations (e.g., learning accommodations)
Is only available for group owners to set and change
Example: “This is a 10th grade U.S. History class with 25 students. There’s a wide variety of learning capabilities, with five students reading below level and requiring extra support.”

Adding learning goals and background to an existing class
On the class page, click on “curriculum” on the left side navigation.
The “Learning goals and background” field will be available in the class settings panel. Make sure to click “Update” once you’ve added your context!
