The "Limit access hours" feature allows administrators to limit student access to the Flint workspace to specified times and days. This feature is designed to help students stay focused and avoid procrastination by restricting access to the workspace outside of designated hours. This also enables schools to ensure they have personnel awake and available to assist students if the need arises.

Note: Only administrators have access to set and edit this feature. It is not visible to or editable by students or teachers.

Go to the “Workspace settings”

As an administrator, click on “Settings and members” in the sidebar of your homepage.

Click “Access controls”

In the settings panel, click on "Access controls" on the left-hand side.

Toggle on limited access hours

Locate the "Limited Access Hours" feature and click on the toggle to turn it on. Also on this page is the "Allowed IP ranges" settings, with which you can limit the IP addresses from which students can access the workspace, which could help limit access to school grounds.

Set time zone, times, and days of the week

Select the time zone of your workspace from the dropdown menu, determine the start and end times, and the days during which the workspace will be available to students. Teachers and admin will still be able to access Flint outside of these times.

Click update and inform students

Make sure to click the "Update" button to save your changes. Also, make sure to communicate these restrictions with your students. Flint will not send out any information notifying them of these access changes.
