Pausing an activity temporarily stops students from continuing any existing sessions or starting new sessions. This is a great way to lock or freeze access to an activity.

We see teachers using this feature to restrict an activity's usage to just during class time, where the teacher will unpause the activity at the start of class and pause it at the end. It's also a good option for locking the activity until you're ready for students to use it.

Open an activity

Click on "Activity settings"

Select "Assignment" and pause the activity

Go to the assignment section of the activity settings by clicking on the "Assignment" button on the left panel.

Once the activity is paused, users can no longer create new sessions or continue existing sessions.

Click "Update" to save your changes

You've paused your activity! πŸŽ‰
