Importing users and classes from an LMS or SIS in Flint

Guide for admins on how to import rosters via SIS/LMS to automatically set up class groups in Flint.

As an admin in Flint, you can import users and groups (e.g. classes of students and teachers) from your school's SIS or LMS.

Flint has partnered with Edlink to integrate with SIS and LMS like Veracross, Blackbaud, Canvas, and more.

Follow the steps below to import users and groups into Flint.

Step 1: Go to "Settings and members"

Click on “Settings and members” found in the left-hand sidebar of your workspace homepage.

Step 2: Click on "SIS and LMS"

Within the “Settings & members” menu, click on the SIS and LMS tab.

Step 3: Click on "Add SIS or LMS"

At the bottom, click on the "Add SIS or LMS" button.

Step 4: Authorize the integration

You'll automatically be redirected to Edlink to begin the integration process. Follow the steps within Edlink to connect your school's LMS/SIS to Flint.

Step 5: Click the new integration

Your new integration will appear. Click on it.

Step 6: Confirm the data pipeline

In order to proceed, you will need to click the confirmation based on the EdLink article: https://ed.link/docs/dashboard/integrations/sharing-rules

Step 7: Review the users and groups to import

Review the users and groups information to make sure it looks correct.

Step 8: Click "Import"

If all looks well, click “Import"

  • Note: If you click on the check mark, it will remove all users not a part of this integration.

Optional: Send emails to imported users
