Districts: What is it and how do you access it

A guide for administrators who oversee district wide implementation of Flint.

What is it and why is it important?

Flint has district wide capabilities, where designated administrators have access to all workspaces within the district and can invite other administrators to help oversee the district. Districts are important because it keeps all workspaces organized in one place. It also helps administrators access workspaces easily for better and quicker management.

District vs. Workspace

A district manages a collection of workspaces, and within the workspaces are different groups. If you don't have district access on your dashboard, then your school has purchased for themselves only OR you will need to contact your district administrator to give you access.

What is a district owner?

A district owner is someone who helps oversee the entire district and the workspaces or school within it. An owner can invite other owners to help manage the district. They have access to all of the workspaces and are able view the analytics, groups, and activity within them.

District Access

To access your district dashboard -

  1. Navigate to the top left corner of your homepage and click on your workspace name.

  2. Go down to "Manage Districts"

  3. Your district name will pop up, click on the gear icon next to your district's name

Add District Owners

  1. Follow directions above for district access

  2. Navigate to "Owners"

  3. Add user's first & last name or their email

Remove Workspaces From District

  1. Follow directions above for district access

  2. Navigate to "Workspaces"

  3. Remove any workspace you do not want in your district anymore
