How to edit the generated video

You can make modifications to the video by simply asking Sparky. In this example, I've asked Sparky to make my video on the American Revolution focus more on key events in a timeline format.

How do you customize voice, language, and speaking rate?

As of April 4, 2026, videos now support custom voice, language, and speaking rate settings. There are two ways to customize these: using activity settings or asking Sparky.

Customizing via build manually in activity settings

When generating videos within an activity, Sparky automatically uses the activity's configured voice, language, and speaking rate. To change these defaults:

  1. Open your activity settings

  2. Click "Build Manually"

  3. Click "Language"

  4. Configure your preferred voice, language, and speaking rate

  5. Click "Update activity"

Any videos generated in that activity will now use these settings.

Asking Sparky

You can also request specific voice, language, or speaking rate settings directly in your message to Sparky, which can occur both in chats and in "Build with Sparky" for activities.

For example:

  • "Generate a video in Spanish about photosynthesis"

  • "Create a video with a slower speaking rate for my ELL students"

  • "Make a video using the Blake voice"

Both the narration and any on-screen text will render in your selected language.

What are best practices for video generation?

Tell Sparky how to teach

Be specific about the audience, including things like grade level, background knowledge, and learning objectives. You can also provide context such as:

  • Pasting notes or curriculum text

  • Attaching documents, like a syllabus or slides

  • Including links to readings or resources

Additionally, you can ask Spaky to include examples, analogies, or step-by-step explanations in the video.

Be clear that you want a generated video

When you want Sparky to make a video, make sure to use language like:

  • "Create a video on..."

  • "Generate a video about..."

  • "Make a video that explains..."

The clearer you are about what format you want, the more helpful Sparky will be!

Are there any limitations to the video generation feature?

Currently, there are a few limitations to the video generation feature:

  • Videos are approximately 90 seconds long

  • Each video contains about 6 scenes

  • Custom voices are not yet supported

  • Multilingual video generation is not yet supported

  • Currently, videos do not have the watermark feature
